I can’t help but enjoy this short film with astronaut Buzz Aldrin and George Clooney, even if it is an advertisement for Omega. At least it is the enjoyable kind of promotion that is more like an appreciation of an American hero instead of a hard sell tactic to move timepieces off of a shelf.

Without the link to NASA’s Apollo moon landings of the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Omega Speedmaster line of watches might not be considered one of the most collectible watches today. I am sure people would still want them, but the link to childhood heroes and epic space missions will always be fuel for the fire of our dreams… even almost 50 years later.

This video is only about 7 minutes, but where else are you going to meet Buzz Aldrin? Most people never will get the opportunityย so this the next best thing. The host, George Clooney, is charming as only he can be, and I sincerely feel like he is meeting one of his heroes. I felt like this meeting meant something special to him. I think it’s worth a visit on youtube atย https://youtu.be/fIDlmBmhPFY. Enjoy!
